Okay, here we go…
Okay, first thing’s first – let’s take a look at the weather.
Well, the view from TheJournal.ie is bright and fairly grey all over:
But don’t take it from me, let’s see what Met Éireann are saying.
Yep – it’s going to mostly cloudy this morning with some misty drizzle forming.
But sunnier spells will develop later and we’re going to have highs of 11 to 15 degrees in light breezes.
All things considering, not too shabby weather-wise
Now to traffic.
We can start by having a look at Dublin.
So the good folks at AA Roadwatch are letting us know that traffic is light in Dublin city at the moment.
It’s also moving well on the M50 in both directions.
It’s still early days yet, but as sure as today is Tuesday and I want to be back in bed – traffic won’t stay light for long.
Elsewhere, it’s slow southbound on Guild Street in the Docklands and there are delays on the Lucan Road.
Things are still looking relatively quiet around the rest of the country as well.
In Cork, traffic is moving well currently – with no major incidents to report (according to the AA).
It’s moving well in Limerick as well and also in Galway city centre.
It seems that the sensible ones are still all asleep in their comfy, comfy beds.
Sleep tight, everyone.
Buuuut for the rest of us the show must go on.
Dublin City Traffic cams are showing traffic start to build in all the usual spots.
Would you look – there’s Drumcondra Road starting to build up already.
Ever tried to get a bus from Drumcondra Road past 8 o’clock in the morning? They’re always full (always).
A bit further east on the North Strand Road heading into town isn’t looking much better.
Traffic is still moving well on the M50, though, which is good news. Maybe it won’t be that busy today? (Don’t bet on it)
Taking an aerial view of Dublin city and it looks like traffic is still moving well enough.
O’Connell Street is green – showing that things aren’t too hectic there. College Green is also, er, green, which is good news.
Some slower movement on the North Quays (what’s new) and a few red spots here and there. But overall, things are still fairly calm.
Wake up everyone! Time to leave those comfy, comfy beds.

So, what’s going on in the world today?
Further fallout from that awful earthquake in Ecuador that happened over the weekend. The death toll now stands at 413.
In the US, Democratic presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are competing in the New York primaries. This will be a hugely significant battle in the presidential race.
Back home, and the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is warning that foreign hospitals have set their sights on recruiting Irish nurses – and many of them are going to go.
Okay, looks like people heard my wake up call.
The M50 is getting ever busier in both directions.
Here’s how it looks at the Red Cow Slip:

And, now, I don’t want to alarm people, but here’s how traffic is looking on the M50 at Greenhills Park.
Traffic isn’t looking too bad yet, but is that or is that not some sort of spooky ghost on the right side of the picture?
Spooky.
Ah, would you look.
Yesterday AA Roadwatch tweeted a picture showing the morning sunrise, and now Iarnród Éireann has done the same.
Things are looking decidedly less grey in Cork than they are in Dublin.
Speaking of Cork, latest travel info coming in shows that it’s picking up in all the usual places.
The AA are reporting that traffic is building approaching the Dunkettle Interchange.
It’s also picking up now in Cork city.
In Galway, it’s busy on the Ballybrit Crescent inbound and it’s busy on the N17 Tuam Road.
Things seem to be moving okay in Limerick at the moment.

Back to Dublin, and traffic is busy now southbound on the M50.
The AA reports that it’s also busy in all the usual spots, namely:
Inbound on Amiens Street.
Inbound on the Rock Road.
Inbound on the Stillorgan Road and the Drumcondra Road.
Also seeing delays on the N11/Mount Newtownpark Avenue.
And busy traffic at the N32/ Malahide Road.
Busy, busy, busy.
There’s been a collision on the Botanic Road inbound at Harts Corner just before Phibsboro.
The AA and Dublin Council are advising caution on approach.
We’ve also got reports of a truck broken down on Whitestown Way heading north close to Tallaght Stadium/ the Maldron Hotel in Tallaght.
The Ecuador earthquake, the Cork incinerator going before An Bord Pleanála and a man in police custody over a shooting last month.
Our reporter Cliodhna Russell has all this morning’s top stories for you over at the 8 at 8.
The AA and Dublin City Council’s traffic management centre are reporting that the crash at Botanic Avenue has been cleared but that delays remain.
Anyone getting to work through the traffic blackspot that is Phibsboro expect delays following that crash at Botanic Avenue.
It’s also busy on the M50, at Amiens Street, on the Stillorgan Road and the Rock Road.
In good news, that spooky ghost has almost disappeared from Greenhills Park on the M50.
Phew.
We’re into the full traffic swing now, with busy roads in the main spots around the country.
Cork
AA Roadwatch reporting that there are delays both ways now on the Wilton Road.
Still busy (as always) approaching the Dunkettle Interchange.
Busy in Cork city centre.
Busy approaching Mount Oval on the N28 Ringaskiddy Road.
Galway
Delays inbound on Bóthar na dTreabh.
Still busy on the N17 Tuam Road.
Moving nice and well at the moment in Galway city centre.
But the Headford Road is still slow inbound.
Limerick
Suffice to say, it’s busy in Limerick.

Ah, remember an hour ago when the traffic wasn’t too bad in Dublin?
Good times.
Unfortunately that’s no longer the case. We’ve got a big build up on the north quays in the city centre.
It’s also bad on the North Circular Road, Dorset Street and around North Strand.
On the south side, things are bumper to bumper around Ranelagh and Rathmines.
Another Tuesday, another busy morning full of traffic.
The AA is reporting that that breakdown on Whitetown Way at Tallaght has been cleared.
Well, it’s now (wait for it) DAY 53 after the general election and STILL don’t have a government.
Talks will continue this morning between Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael over forming a Fine Gael-led minority government supported by Fianna Fáil.
Talks were said to be “cordial” between the two parties yesterday – with some sort of document detailing how the government would function close to being completed.
Let’s just hope this all gets sorted soon. At this stage, it’s starting to feel a bit like Groundhog Day.
Hearing reports of a collision on the Con Colbert Road heading inbound before the South Circular Road.
Motorists being advised to exercise caution on approach.
Also hearing reports from both the AA and Dublin Council traffic management of a collision on the Stillorgan Road after the Kill Lane junction that’s blocking the right lane.
